Hey guys, CJ here! Looks like I have finally came off cloud nine and back down to reality. Today marks the day that I formally asked two individuals to be my mentor in my quest to complete my genius project. I know them very well as they are my bosses ironically. I chose them because they obtain the perfect set of skills to aid me tremendously. I conversed with them about idea of the tournament to see what they thought about it and they had some demoralizing but, very helpful information in regards to my tournament. We came to the conclusion that I don't have the time and resources to put on the tournament at my deadline of the beginning of the next school year. However there's no need to fear as my peers and I have found another idea that has a significant better chance of being a success. sticking with the same topic of children and basketball, I have decided that I will train the children instead of having a giant tournament. Don't get me wrong, I still strongly love the idea of the tournament, but it's just a little out of my grasp as a junior in high school. I don't have the networking and funding to pull it off. The name of it is in still in the works, but for now I chosen to call it "Passion for the Game". I believe it's a good starter name for the program as it's bold enough to entice children to com out and want to get better and most importantly have fun. I have come to find out that even though I'm not able to do my original idea, it was merely a stepping stone in the adventure of genius project.
